Which of the following is not an artificial method of vegetative propagation?

  • A) Cutting
  • B) Layering
  • C) Budding ✔
  • D) Grafting

\huge\underline\orange{How \ ?}

Budding is not an artificial method of vegetative propagation because, Budding is a process where the bud continues to grow and finally detaches itself from parent cell. The detached cell then continues to live as whole new individual cell..So, therefore Budding is not an artificial method of vegetative propagation...

Grafting, Layering and cutting are the processes that are involved in the Artificial method of vegetative propagation.

Cutting :

  • This method is carried out in plants such as Hibiscus..where stem of the plant is cut and planted in new pot or soil.

Grafting :

  • In this process, a bud or a stem cutting from one plant is inserted into a group of second plant which is Rooted to the ground.

Layering :

  • In this method a part of the branch on the plant is bent down and covered with soil. The remaining part of the branch remains above the ground.
