answer is B)

Explanation:

  • according to Chargaff's rule amount of purine A& G is equal to amount of pyrimidine C& T of a ds DNA.
  • so, A+G=T+C
  • A pair with T and G pair with C. so the amount of A = amount of T and amount of G= amount of C
  • so G/C=1
  • suppose A= 30%, G=40% then T=30% and C= 40%
  • A+T/G+C=(30%+30%)/(40%+40%)=0.75≠1
  • or, suppose if A=50% and G= 50% then T=50% and C=50%
  • A+T/G+C=(50%+50%)/(50%+50%)= 1
  • A+T or G+C may or may not equal to 1
  • so the A+T = G+C ,option B is incorrect.
