colchicine does not inhibit chromosomal replication

garima8000: explain pls
kdhjalandhar: colchicine is an alkaloid which is obtain from plant and is used in gout and cancer due to its property mitotic inhibition. as it prevent polymerization of tubulin protein so dna can't be separated
kdhjalandhar: plz mark as brainly, regards
garima8000: if it is preventing assemblage of tubulin protien this means that it is also inhibiting chromosomal replication as separation would not take place. it does not inhibit DNA replication but how it is preventing chromosomal replication
kdhjalandhar: its not preventing dna replication, so question is abt exception of function of colchicine
garima8000: they have mentioned "CHROMOSOMAL REPLICATION " not "DNA REPLICATION
kdhjalandhar: Dna replication will occur but the movement of replicated dna toword the poles by microtubules will not occur as tubules will not be formed
garima8000: yes that is what i m saying but that is called dna replication not chromosomal replication
kdhjalandhar: chromosome is formed of dna
