Both are not true for displacement..

a)

Displacement can be zero because when initial position the final position are the same then displacement is zero.

If after travelling a certain distance , the moving body finally comes back to the starting position then Displacement is zero.

b)

The shortest distance (straight line) between the initial position and the final position of the body along with direction is known as its displacement.

Hence it cannot be greater than the magnitude of the distance travelled by an object however sometimes it may be equal to the distance travelled by the object.

Answer:

Hi friend,

Hi friend, the option b)  its magnitude is greater than the distance traveled by an object is true.

Hi friend, the option b)  its magnitude is greater than the distance traveled by an object is true. because in option a) it is said that it can't be zero which is false. because displacement is sometimes zero.
