Answer:

Here is your answer...

Explanation:

Number of electrons that can be accomodated in a shell is given by 2n² . Where n is the shell number.

Now ,

1] K shell - 1st shell

Here , value of n = 1.

So , the number of electrons that can be accomodated in M shell = 2(1)² = 2(1) = 2.

Therefore , Maximum number of electrons that can be accomodated by M shell is 2 electrons.

2] L shell - 2nd shell

Here , value of n = 2.

So , the number of electrons that can be accomodated in L shell = 2(2)² = 2(4) = 8.

Therefore , Maximum number of electrons that can be accomodated by L shell is 8 electrons

3] M shell - 3rd shell

Here , value of n = 3.

So , the number of electrons that can be accomodated in M shell = 2(3)² = 2(9) = 18.

Therefore , Maximum number of electrons that can be accomodated by M shell is 18 electrons.

Hence , The shell which can accomodate maximum of 18 electrons is M - shell.
