Which of the following statement(s) is/are incorrect?
(a) Flux can be varied by changing any one or more of the term B, A and theta.
(b) Flux can also be altered by changing the shape of a coil (i.e. by shrinking it or stretching it)in a magnetic field.
(c) A gentle push on the magnet in magnetic field intiates the motion in magnet and its kinetic energy continuously increases without expanding any energy.
(d) When a bar magnet experiences a repulsive force due to the induced current, a person has to do work in moving the magnet. The energy spent by the person is dissipated by joule heating produced by the induced current.

The incorrect statement is (c).

  • The magnetic flux is calculated as follows:
  • \phi = BAcos\theta
  • Where B is the magnetic field, A is the area and \theta is the angle between the area and magnetic field.
  • Hence, the flux can be changed by changing B, A, and \theta.
  • Thus,  the option (a) and (b) are correct.
  • Statement (c) violates the law of energy of conservation. Hence it is incorrect.
  • Statement (d) is correct. This is in coordination with Lenz's law and the law of conservation of energy.

Therefore, the correct option is (c).
