Answer:

  1. Outdated and traditional methods: Even though many new technologies have flourished over time in agricultural sector and many new inventions have ivolved as well as developed over time, the increase and use of these methods have still not improved in case of Indian agriculture.
  1. Subsistence farming: Most of the people engaged in farming and agriculture do not produce for commercial purposes in India. They do it only for their own consumption and sustainment.
  • Poverty of farmers: Our Indian farmers are mostly BPL and they cannot invest highly on agriculture.
  • Reliability on monsoon, seen as a liability : Most of the farmers in India are still risking their production on arrival of monsoon. They rely seasonal as well as periodic monsoons as a source of irrigation.
  • Lack of support from government: Even though our government has been doing something or the other for agricultural growth in India, then also it is not been able to fulfill its high demands. It is now that we have to prioritise agriculture. Many schemes and policies have been launched by the government such as Soil Health Card Scheme, Rainfed Area Development, Paramaparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY), Pradahan Mantri  Krishi Sinchai Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) etc. but there's still many to go.
  • Lacks modernisation: The farmers are still using traditional techniques of ploughs and other agricultural equipments even today when the tractors, seedlers and combined harvesters dominate the market. They are still confined to the boundaries of traditional seeds till date when the terminator seed provides high yield.
  • Green Revolution confined to isolated areas: Even though Green Revolution of 1960s and 1970s have shown a fillip to the development as well as production on its heights, then too it has faced a lot of crises as well as drawbacks main consisting of confined to only isolated areas. The northern part of the country saw its growth to its peak but there was no kind of revolution in the west, east of the south of the country.
  • Lack of banking and insurance: In India we find a unpopular support of banking and insurance in case of agriculture. Even though many schemes such as KISAN CREDIT CARD scheme (KCC) still many lacks its access.
