d.(ch3)3CS

At 50 and 75 °C, rates of sol gel method of isopropyl bromine in ethyl alcohol mixtures (20 to 80 percent by amount of ethanol) were evaluated, and activation parameters were derived. The differences in its early state thermodynamic characteristics were computed using the low vapour pressures of isopropyl bromide over several solutions at 50 and 75 °C. As a result, the starting and transition state contributions to the variation in activating characteristics with different solvents could be examined. According to both a unimolecular and bimolecular treatment of data, the initial state variation prevails.
