Given :

The A.P. 72 , 63 , 54 , . .

To find :

The term which is 0

Solution :

Step 1 of 2 :

Find first term and common difference

Here the given AP is 72 , 63 , 54 , . .

First term = a = 72

Common Difference = d = 63 - 72 = - 9

Step 2 of 2 :

Find the term which is 0

Let nth term of the AP is 0

By the given condition

a + ( n - 1 )d = 0

⇒ 72 - 9(n - 1) = 0

⇒ 72 - 9n + 9 = 0
