The renal artery takes blood to the kidney. The renal vein takes blood away from the kidney. In the kidney, the waste product urea is filtered out of the blood. So the main difference is in the amount of urea in the blood: high in the renal artery and low in the renal vein.

The nitrogenous waste is the waste produced by the body on absorption of nutrients from the food. These wastes are required to the excreted from the body.

Explanation:

  • Renal artery brings the oxygenated blood through the aorta to the kidneys. The origin of aorta is from the heart. The blood is not pure and it consists of the nitrogenous waste in it.
  • The renal vein carries the deoxygenated blood but the blood is in the filtered from the heart which is then distributed to all the organs of the body.
  • On the basis of the above explanation, renal artery consists of more nitrogenous waste as compared to the renal vein.
