Which of these is closer to plants - algae or Protozoa? In what aspect?

Algae are a large, diverse group of photosynthetic organisms that are not necessarily found to be closely related. They are polyphyletic.

 Protozoa on the other hand are eukaryotes that are either free-living or parasitic.

They feed on natural matter such as other single-celled organisms as well as organic tissue.

 Thus, Algae is closer to plants, since it contains chlorophyll just like plants.
