Let’s suppose x^2 - 4 = 0
The numbers out of 3,2,-2,1 , which satisfies the equation will be the zero

Clearly , we can see that 2 and -2 are the answers. You can even try all the numbers one - by - one if you face a confusion.

We got two zeroes since we are dealing with a quadratic equation and a quadratic equation has two zeroes.

Hope that helps.

Let p(x)= x²-4

If x= 1

1²-4= 1-4= -3 ≠ 0

Therefore 1 not a zero of the given polynomial.

If x= 2

2²-4 = 4 - 4 = 0

Therefore 2 is a zero of the given polynomial.

If x = -2

(-2)² - 4= 4-4= 0

Therefore -2 is a zero of the given polynomial.

If x = 3

3²-4= 9-4= 5 ≠ 0

Therefore 3 is not a zero of the given polynomial.
