25 is a square number which happens to  be the sum of two smaller square numbers in 16 , 25 , 36 and 49

Given:

  • Numbers ( Missing in the Question)
  • 16
  • 25
  • 36
  • 49

To Find:

  • Which of the given numbers also happens to be the sum of two smaller square numbers

Solution:

Square numbers are obtained by multiplication of number with number it self

1² = 1

2² = 4

3² = 9

4² = 16

5² = 25

6² = 36

7² = 49

Creating a table of sum of squares

         1        4         9         16          25

1        2        5        10        17          26

4       5         8       13        20         29

9       10      13       18        25         34

16      17     20       25       32         41

25    26     29       34       41          50

Checking from the given numbers 16 , 25 , 36 and 49

only 25 is in the table

25 = 9 + 16  = 16 + 9

5² = 3² + 4² = 4² + 3²

Hence 25 is a square number which happens to  be the sum of two smaller square numbers

( Although your Question is incomplete but missing number can 16 , 25 , 36 and 49 as shown in attached fig)
