Ujjain is an ancient city of India.


It is in the Malwa state of Madhya Pradesh.


It is situated on the eastern bank of the great river Kshipra.


In ancient times the city was named as Ujjayini.


It has a very high religious value and pilgrimage and tourist attraction.


It has an increasing population.


As one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, which are supposed to be the most sacred abodes of Shiva is located here.


In the southern end, the image of Nandi is located.


Other very important monuments are


:1)the vehicle of Lord Shiva.


2) Mahakaleshwar temple is the most important temple in Ujjain city and


3)famous Bhasm Aarti.
