Specific gravity = density of substance / density of water ( 1000 kg /m³)
so density of substance should be greater than density of water
so that specific gravity will be more .. and higher specific gravity means higher density which means it will settle beneath water molecules .. so the substance which have high specific gravity will settle faster .
