The brain controls the thinking, speaking and learning ability of an organism.

The brain has three main parts: the cerebrum, cerebellum and brainstem.

Cerebrum: is the largest part of the brain and is composed of right and left hemispheres & performs higher functions like interpreting touch, vision and hearing, as well as speech, reasoning, emotions, learning, and fine control of movement.

Cerebellum: is located under the cerebrum. receives information from the sensory systems, the spinal cord, and other parts of the brain and then regulates motor movements & coordinates voluntary movements such as posture, balance, coordination, and speech, resulting in smooth and balanced muscular activity.

Brainstem: acts as a relay center connecting the cerebrum and cerebellum to the spinal cord.  distal part of the brain that is made up of the midbrain, pons, and medulla oblongata that together, help to regulate breathing, heart rate, blood pressure, and several other important functions.
