There are not enough different cases of this variation to draw a meaningful conclusion. s - s overlap occurs in molecular hydrogen, but does it occur anywhere else? s - p really only involves H with something else. p - p overlap gives many different bond strengths, depending on what energy level the bonding orbitals are in, and hence their percentage overlap.
H-H 436 kJ/mol
Cl - Cl 243 kJ/mol
Br - Br 194 kJ/mol
H - F 568 kJ/mol
H - Cl 431 kJ/mol
H-Br 366 kJ/mol
