Coromandel Coast which includes Tamil Nadu and some parts of Southern Andhra Pradesh gets winter rainfall (like nowadays) from the NE Monsoon.
North Western India also receives rainfall in winter from the Western Disturbance. ( This is the cause of nowadays snowfall in Himalayas).
If you need more details then tell me, I'll write it to you.
