northern India is usually called purvanchal comprising of eastern districts of U.P and certain western parts of Bihar

Features:
1. bhojpuri is the main dialect


2.the region has heavy influence by Awadhi

Purvanchal is the eastern side of India because it is located in the east side of India (poorv)
Two features of it are:
1. It is composed with strong sandstone which are sedimentary rocks.
2. It is also covered with dense forests.
