Phloem is that plant tissue which is responsible for conduction of food in plants.

The main differences are as follows :

a. Xylem is dead
Phloem is alive.

b. Xylem carries only water.
Phloem carries organic compounds.

c. Xylem liquid to flow in upward direction only
Phloem allow bidirectional flow.
