I think Tyndall effect is that property.

Sumit805: more appropriately it may be Surface tension.
Sumit805: if only lyophobic are considered as it will be equal to surface tension of solvent .

General properties of colloidal systems are as follows:

(1) Colloidal system is heterogeneous and consists of two phases, dispersed phase and dispersion medium.

(2) The dispersed phase particles pass slowly through parchment paper or animal membrane, but readily pass through ordinary filter paper.

(3) The colloidal systems exhibit optical property like Tyndal effect, kinetic property like Brownian motion, electrical properties like electrophoresis a colour.
