Geographical time scale is in the direct evidence in the favor of organic evolutions in different ages through which earth has passed from sequential events. Geographical time scale was first developed by Arduino in 1760. It has been divided into two eons and four major eras. The two eons are cryptozoic (rarity of life forms, from the very beginning of the earth to Cambrian period) and phanerozoic (abundance of life forms, Cambrian of palaeozoic to recent of coenozoic). The four eras are Precambrian (from the origin of earth to 545 million years), palaeozoic (era of ancient life, 245-544 million years), Mesozoic (the era of medieval life, 65-245 million years) and coenozoic (age of or start of the modern life, 0.01-65 million years).
An era may be divided into periods and a period of epochs. Precambrian has a total of three divisions or periods- azoic (no life, 4200-4600 million years), archaeozoic (age of "invisible life" or monera, 1600-3800 million years) and Proterozoic (age of early life, 1500-1545 million years). Stickberger (in 1995), however, considers Precambrian to be equivalent to Proterozoic. Along with it, archaeozoic and azoic periods are considered to be eras (accords to him).
