Which relationship could be the one shown on the graph? On a coordinate plane, a line goes through points (4, 3) and (8, 6). Jackson paid $4.50 for 6 notebooks, where x is the number of notebooks and y is the total price. Jackson read 2 pages in 1.5 minutes, where x is the time in minutes and y is the number of pages. Jackson ate 8 chips containing 6 calories each, where x is the number of chips and y is the number of calories per chip. Jackson spent 6 minutes working on 7.5 math problems, where x is the number of math problems and y is the time in minutes.

Given : On a coordinate plane, a line goes through points (4, 3) and (8, 6).

To Find : Which relationship could be the one shown  by line

Solution:

a line goes through points (4, 3) and (8, 6).

Slope = (6 - 3)/(8 - 4)

= 3/4

y - 3  = (3/4)(x - 4)

=> 4y - 12 = 3x - 12

=> 4y = 3x

=> y = 3x/4

Jackson paid $4.50 for 6 notebooks, where x is the number of notebooks and y is the total price.

x = 6

=> (3/4)*6 = 4.5

Hence this holds true

Jackson read 2 pages in 1.5 minutes, where x is the time in minutes and y is the number of pages.

x = 1.5

 (3/4) 1.5 ≠ 2

Jackson ate 8 chips containing 6 calories each, where x is the number of chips and y is the number of calories per chip

x = 8

=>  (3/4)*8 = 6

Hence this holds true

Jackson spent 6 minutes working on 7.5 math problems, where x is the number of math problems and y is the time in minutes.

x = 7.5

(3/4)*7.5 ≠ 6
