Given : set of points

(6. 2), (3, 1), (9,3), (10,2)

(4.2), (6.3), (8,3). (10, 5)

(1.3), (2.6), (3.8), (4. 12)

(2.4), (4.8), (3,6). (5. 10)

To Find : Which set of points represents equivalent ratios and would follow the same pattern on a graph

Solution:

(6, 2), (3, 1), (9,3), (10,2)

Arranging in order

(3, 1) (6, 2),  (9,3), (10,2)

First three term  x increases 3 and y increases 1 but last term x increases but y decreased

Hence not equivalent ratios

(4,2), (6,3), (8,3), (10, 5)

Between 2nd & third term x increases but y does not

(1,3), (2,6), (3,8), (4, 12)

(3.8)  should have been 3,9  for equivalent ratios

(2.4), (4,8), (3,6). (5, 10)

Arranging in order

(2,4), (3,6),(4,8), (5, 10)

For every increase of 1 in x there is increase of 2 in y

2/4 = 3/6 = 4/8 = 5/10 = 1/2

Hence   represents equivalent ratios

= 1/2

(2,4), (4,8), (3,6), (5, 10)    set of points represents equivalent ratios and would follow the same pattern on a graph
