First of all decide your domain.

This is the Most important step that a Mechanical Engineer should take at UG level which influence your entire future. Unfortunately nobody makes a point on this ever..

Following are the domains available for you to choose :

1.CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics)

2.CAE (Computer Aided Engineering)

3.CAD (Computer Aided Design)

4.CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing)

For all these domains there are so many software tools are available. Select your software which your dream company is using.

(Check job portals to know what your dream company is looking for, in the job description)

Example: You chose CAE and General Motors is your dream company then you should be good at using HyperMesh(Pre-Processor) Abaqus (Solver).

Mear software skills are not at all enough.. you should be very strong with all the academic subjects relevant to the domain you chose. software is just like a Scientific calculator unless you have good theoretical and practical knowledge you cannot use it in the right way or validate your results.

Example: when you chose CAE, you should be strong in,

Strength of Materials,

Mechanics of solids,

Finite Element Method/Analysis,

Engg Mechanics.

Now coming to your question.. Generically I would suggest few software domain wise..

CFD : Ansys Fluent.

CAE : HyperMesh(Mandatory), Ansys, Abaqus, MSC Nastran, LS-DYNA.

CAD : ProE, CATIA, NX UniGraphics.

CAM : MasterCAM
