The peninsular plateau also known as the Deccan plateau is the part of Southern India which is rich in igneous soils and soils of metamorphic rocks. These are very ideal for the cultivation of cotton and silk crops. Though they are not as fertile as alluvium yet it is used for cultivation of various crops
