Almost the whole is India is covered with deciduous forests. These forests are the most widespread forests of India, found in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu.

The only places where these are NOT present are the Himalayan and desert regions and tropical evergreen forests (Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar, North-East India).
