The filament is a long, slender stalk which attaches the stamen to the flower. Pollen grains are formed inside the anther which produces the male gametes. Pistil or Carpel: It is the female reproductive part of the flower. It consists of three parts – stigma, style and the ovary.

stamens

The Male Reproductive Organs: Stamens are the male reproductive parts of flowers. A stamen consists of an anther (which produces pollen) and a filament. The pollen consists of the male reproductive cells; they fertilize ovules.
