The nostrils in the human body are analogous to the spiracles in the cockroach.


The nostrils in humans help in exchange of gases in the respiration process which is basis to human existence similarly in the insects the spiracles help in the exchange of gases.


There is slit like opening found in the thorax and abdominal walls.
