Hi ,

114 , 109 , 104 , ... is in A.P

First term = a = 114

Common difference = a2 - a1

d = 109 - 114

d = -5

Let n th term of A.P = 0

a + ( n - 1 )d = 0

114 + ( n - 1 ) ( -5 ) = 0

114 - 5n + 5 = 0

119 - 5n = 0

-5n = - 119

n = 119/5

n = 23.8

Therefore ,

24 th term of given A. P is first

negative number .

a24 = a + 23d

= 114 + 23( - 5 )

= 114 - 115

= -1 ( negative number )

I hope this helps you.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

a=114,d=109-114=-5

Given an/0=n=?

a+(n-1)d/0

114+(n-1)(-5)/0

114-5n+5/0

119-5n/0

119/5n

5n/119

n/23.8

:• n=24

24th term is first negative term
