Grassland, area in which the vegetation is dominated by a nearly continuous cover of grasses. grasslands occur in environment conducive to the growth of this plant cover but not to that of tallar plants, particularly trees and shrubs. the factor is preventing establishment of such taller, Woody vegetation and varied.

Trees and large shrubs are rarely found in grassland areas. There are many species of grasses that live in this biome, including, purple needlegrass, wild oats, foxtail, ryegrass, and buffalo grass.
