i think, the question is which type of energy is involved when objects are rotated.

A rotational energy is a kinetic energy of an object in rotation. For
this reason, it is also called as rotational kinetic energy.
When an object is rotating at an angular speed ω, around an axis of radius of r, its linear speed is ωr. Hence the kinetic energy of its linear velocity is given by the formula
T=1/m(ω)² = 12(mr²)ω² = 1/2(Iω²)
When we see a giant wheel we would be excited to see it rotating. giant wheel acquires both kinetic and potential energy. Since it is moving, it possesses Kinetic energy and if it attains some height it possesses potential energy. Hence we can say that rotational energy possesses both kinetic and potential energy.
Kinetic energy is of two types:
1.Rotational Kinetic Energy
2.Translational Energy
Translational energy is the kinetic energy that is gained by an object during its translational motion or motion along a line in particular axis.
It is given by,
K.E = 1/2mv² m = mass of the object or body and
v = the velocity of the object or body
Similarly, rotational kinetic energy is the energy which is gained by an object or body on virtue of its rotation.
It is given by,
Ek = 1/2 I ω2where, I = moment of Inertiaω= angular Velocity of the rotating body
