It is an accelerated motion under the influence of gravity. Generally a One Dimensional motion under gravity.

It depends on condition if we are throwing ball making an angle theta with the surface it means ball is moving with projectile motion if we throw ball straight up from the floor it is moving upward opposite to the gravitational force..so its motion decreases at the top and then starts increasing when moving downward.
