East of Brazil receives less rainfall.

This is due to the anticyclone intrusions which take place in the Southern Atlantic ocean. Some of the regions inland receive even less than 400mm/a.

From one year to another, however, rainfall amounts vary in this eastern region of Brazil. It is convective in nature.

This region is situated in between the parallels 01°S and 18°S and between the meridians 5° W and 47°W.
