Meristem cells exhibit cell division all the time. These cells are present at the tip of roots and shoots and continuously divide. These cells are dividing into un-differentiated cells which later on differentiate into specialized organs such as stems, roots, leaves etc.

There are 3 types of meristem tissues such as apical, intercalary and lateral meristem.
