Kannauj city in Uttar Pradesh state is called as the Grasse of the East.  River Ganga flows beside this historical city.  It is also known as the perfume capital of the country for a variety of perfumes and more than 200 perfume distilleries.  Grasse is a city in France known for its world renowned perfume industry.
