Voting in India was made compulsory for all citizens above the age of 18 so that all Indians have equal say in the election process under the Universal Adult Franchise. A lot of people were unable to cast their votes due to health, safety, distance and various other problems. This hindered the belief in the equal vote.

Thus, to solve this issue or to bring some relief, Gujrat became the first Indian state to go for Internet Music.

The answer is Gujarat.

  • The Ahmedabad Government introduced internet voting or e-voting in the year 2010.
  • The government held the internet voting in the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation votes in the middle of October 2010.
  • The main purpose of this decision was to influence the people who do not go to the polling booths to cast their votes. This method would help them give their votes from the comfort of their homes.
