Despite differences in opinion about how the constitution should be designed in the post independent India, there were some common principles which were accepted by everyone. However, the leaders were inspired by the following:
1. The ideals of French Revolution
2. The practice of Parliamentary Democracy in Britain
3. Bills of Right in the USA
4. The Socialist Revolution in the Soviet Union
All these factors helped in the framing of our Constitution, however, before incorporating them, their merits and demerits were thoroughly discussed.
