\huge\bold{Given:-}

  • which whole number is nearest of the following (1) 4.6 (2) 0.99 ,and answer the quetion in full detail

\huge\bold{To \: Find:-}

  • whole number is nearest to (1) 4.6.

\huge\bold{Solution:-}

  • 4.6 is nearest to 5.0

 \huge \bold {Why!?}

hey mate! 4.6 is considered more nearer to 5.0 as if you remove the point of 4.6 you will get 46 and 46 is more nearer to 50.

Therefore,50 is ten as 5.0 in decimal.

you got 46!?

We got 46 by following the below rules

  • decimal number×10

  • Yes! By multiplying 4.6 by 10 we got 46.

Now the question arises!

Why was it being multiplied by 10 only not by other numbers with 0 after 1!?

  • So mate! This was done because when we remove the points we write 1 instead of the point and then the number of digits after the points are wriiten as 0.

  • Hence,there was only 1 digit afyer point so we inserted only 1 zero after pints i.e.,10.

Hope your confusion of this topic is cleared!

Now!

How we wrote 50 as 5.0!?

To know read below!

  • To change natural numbers to decimal numbers we need to divide the natural number by the number we multiplied.

  • hence, on multiplying we got 5.0 or 5 as product.

Hope all concepts of the answer is cleared!

So now following this lets find answer of second question!

\huge\bold{To \: Find:-}

  • whole number is nearest to (1) 0.99

\huge\bold{Solution:-}

  • 0.99 in whole number=99

hence, it is nearest to 1.00.

hey mate! we followed the same rule here too!

Just the number by which we multiplied it was changed as there are 2 digits after point we inserted 2 zeros after 1 i.e.,100.

hope it helped!
