Hi.

The commercial unit of energy is kWH. It is also simply called a unit ot BOTU.

Since Power = Energy/Time, SI unit of Power is J/s or Watt (W). A larger unit equal to 1000 W is Kilo Watt (kW). For time, a larger unit of 3600 s or one hour is used.

Thus, energy = Power*time. SI unit of energy is J/s * s = J. A larger unit is kW*H = kWH.

Thus, kWH is a unit of ENERGY.

Hope it helps.
