While diluting an acid, why is it recommended that the acid should be added to water and not water to the acid?

if large amount of water is poured in large amount of acid as the reaction will be highly exothermic the contents might fall out and cause damage... that's why we add acid to water..m

This is because dilution is an exothermic reaction and can produce a lot of heat.if large amount of water will be added heat will be released in a large amount. This can explode the beaker and can cause severe burns and damages

Echo: It's a request to you people to stop arguing in comments section, it disturbs users, and I think it's best to let the asker decide the Brainliest answer, requesting is good, but if the other one deserves it, let them have it, and this is the end of the argument. Thank you
