Trapezoidal rule is a method in which the interval in which integration is to be performed is divided into small intervals. The curve is divided into small trapezoids. The summation of all the trapezoids gives the area under the whole curve and hence the value of integration is calculated.

While evaluating the integral the interval is divided into 'n' number of intervals, the width of each interval is calculated by

h = (b - a)/n

where 'h' is the width of the interval

'b' and 'a' are the boundary points

and 'n' is the number of intervals

The accuracy of this method increases with an increase in the number of subintervals.
