While measuring the length of a paper clip on a scale, the reading at one end is 1.0cm and at the other is 4.3 cm. What is the total length of the paper clip

The actual length of the paper clip is 3.3 cm.

- We generally measure the length of any object by different measuring scales.

- We start the measurement by taking the '0' marking on the scale as one end of the object,then the another end of that object will be situated right beside it's length marking on the scale.

- If that's not the case and we don't take measurement from the zero marking,then the measurement is calculated by calculating the difference between the starting end marking and finishing end marking.

Actual length = (Finishing marking - Starting marking)

- Similarly,here the actual length of the paperclip is = (4.3-1.0) = 3.3 cm.
