While measuring the length of a sharpened pencil, reading of the scale at one end is 0 cm and at the other end is 11 cm. What is the length of
the pencil?

The actual length count of the sharpened pencil starts from 0 cm that is the beginning of the scale.

As the other end of the pencil ends at 11 cm, the actual length of the pencil is 11- 0 = 11 cm. As the scale starts from zero, the least count is also zero that is the smallest division of the scale used here; hence the length is 11 cm.
