no, the size of the image is not smaller than the original. but we feels it as we are distanced away from the mirror the mirror reflects from that distance

According to the properties of image formed by the reflection by a plane mirror, we know:
i)The image formed is virtual.
ii)The image is erect
iii)The image is laterally inverted
iv)Distance between the image and the mirror is same as the distance between the mirror and the object.
v)Height of the image is same as the object.
From property (v) it is clear that the height of the image is NOT lesser than his original height, but is SAME as his original size.
