● The distinct rings observed by Pintu while a trip to Kashmir In The Cut portions of large trees are called growth rings.

● This growth rings are absent in the trees of Maharashtra because the formation of growth rings are highly influenced by climatic conditions.

● In the temperate forest of Kashmir no extreme conditions will prevail to influence the growth of the trees hence distinct growth rings are observed while in Maharashtra extreme climatic conditions aur extreme and influence the growth of trees in tropical forest.
