While solving an equation of the form x + m = n (where m and n are constants), Ranjana made a mistake and added m to n instead of subtracting it. By how much would her answer differ from the correct one?

Given, x + m = n

x = n - m ........(1)

ranjana mistake, x = n + m ..........(2)

Difference of eqn 1 from 2

= n - m - (n + m)

= n - m - n - m

= - m - m

= - 2m
