While using iodine in the labaratory some drops of iodine fell on paheli socks and on her teachers saree the drops of iodine on the saree turned into blue black colour and didn't change on the socks . What can be the possible reason?

the possible reason is that the saree must be made of natural fibre which is rich in cellulose that is obtained from starch but the sock must be made of artificial fibre which does not contains starch
