While writing equations in exam, is it necessary to write the states (like s, l, aqueous or g). If we doesn't write these, marks will be deducted or not ? I was asking this bcozit is very confusing that, Are the substances in aqueous or in solid, is there any tip or method for learning the states (like all ----are in aqueous).

well good question u have raised. when we are balancing equation its necessary balance with its physical state.otherwise ur marks will be deducted.
its very simple . follow these tips:
all solids are represented by s
liquids by l
gases by g
if any insoulble solid is formed it is called precipitate given by down arrow key
if any solution you are preparing with water for example salt solution that is NaCl in water is aqueous write by aq
if heat is released +Q
if heat is absorbed-Q
