Slavery and slave trade was one of the darkest chapters of the whole French history.

The slavery was first stopped in the year of 1794 but the slavery was started again in the France when Napoleon Bonaparte became the ruler of France in the year of 1804.

At last, due to the continuous efforts of the French colonies, the slavery was completely demolished from the France in the year of 1848.
